While a law student and under Georgia's Third Year Practice Act, Wendi was selected to work in the Public Defender's Office of Rockdale County. As an intern Public Defendant, she worked closely with attorneys, investigators, administrative staff and court personnel to forge important professional relationships and to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system. After passing the Georgia Bar Exam on her first attempt, Wendi's dedication, ability and potential was recognized and she was offered and accepted a full time position with Rockdale County as Assistant Public Defender. Wendi handled a variety of cases at many levels ranging from DUIs, drug charges, theft charges, family violence, serious felonies, traffic violations, speeding tickets, suspended driver's license issues, fraud and juvenile crimes. The invaluable knowledge and experience she gained through her representation of countless numbers of individuals served to sharpen her trial skills, cultivate her impeccable reputation in the legal community and reaffirm her interest in taking all clients as she found them and making their lives better.
In 2006, Wendi left civil service to enter private practice. Since leaving, she has been applying her knowledge, experience, and tireless work ethic to helping people and protecting their rights through legal counsel. Her managing partner, M. Qader A. Baig explains that, "Wendi has seen more success in her career than most lawyers see in a lifetime, and most importantly, she remains humble and focused on helping the next person in their time of need. I could not ask for a greater commitment."
